YOUR CURRENT R.P.D. - P.B.A. Officers  

President - Michael Van Roo - Mike was a sworn member of the Rochester Police Department from 1988 to 2013. Mike has served in the Technicians Unit and Patrol Division West. At the time of his retirement Mike was the Lieutenant of the Major Crimes Unit and the Commander of the Bomb Squad. Mike is currently the SABIS Manager for the Monroe County Sheriff's Department. Mike was elected P.B.A. Vice-President in 2004 and President in 2020.

Vice President - William Benwitz - Bill was a sworn member of the Rochester Police Department from 1976 to 2005. Bill retired as a Sergeant and had been the Officer in Charge of the RPD training academy and firearms training unit for the last ten years of his active service with RPD.  Bill served as the Treasurer of the Locust Club 1996-2002 and Vice President of the Locust Club from 2002-2005. Bill served as the President of the Police Benevolent Association for 26 years from 1994 until 2020.

Secretary - Ralph Gagliano - Ralph was a sworn member of the Rochester Police Department from 1975 to 2018, serving as a Sergeant in several sections including, Sergeant-In-Charge of the Backgrounds Unit, Highland and Maple Sections and was the Executive Vice-President of the Locust Club at the time of his retirement.  Ralph was elected P.B.A. Secretary in 2006.

Treasurer - John Prewasnicak -John followed in his father Stanley's footsteps and became a sworn member of the Rochester Police Department from 1986-2018. John was the Lieutenant in charge of the Special Events Unit at the time of his retirement. John was appointed P.B.A. Assistant Treasurer in 2015 and P.B.A. Vice President in 2020.

Assistant Treasurer -  Dane Brown  -  Dane was a sworn member of the Rochester Police Department from 1968 to 2001  . Dane served in the Tactical Unit, SCIS.  He became the Locust Clubs Executive Vice President about 1983 and served in that capacity until his retirement in 2001. Dane was also the RPD-PBA's Treasurer from (a long, long, time ago) until 2019 when he moved down to Asst. Treasurer .
